VisitNew Zealand Sets New World Record for Largest Haka Performance with Over 6,000 Participants
Sep 29, 2024, 12:09 PM
Thousands of people gathered at Auckland's Eden Park in New Zealand on Sunday to set a new world record for the largest haka performance. The event saw more than 6,000 participants performing the legendary traditional Māori war dance, surpassing the previous record of 4,028 participants set in France in 2014. The haka, a customary performance by the indigenous Māori, is often featured at funerals, weddings, and other significant events. This achievement allowed New Zealand to reclaim the world record for the largest mass haka, previously held by France.
