VisitNew Orleans Terror Attack Leaves 15 Dead, Sugar Bowl Postponed 24 Hours to Thursday

A deadly truck attack occurred early Wednesday morning on Bourbon Street in New Orleans during New Year's celebrations, killing at least 15 people and injuring dozens more. Authorities are investigating the incident as an act of terrorism. In response, officials have postponed the Allstate Sugar Bowl, a College Football Playoff quarterfinal game originally scheduled for Wednesday night at the Superdome. Sugar Bowl CEO Jeff Hundley announced that the game will be postponed for 24 hours and rescheduled for Thursday night at 7:45 p.m. The Superdome is currently under lockdown as law enforcement works to secure the area and continue their investigation.
