NEON has acquired the U.S. rights to 'The Monkey,' a film adaptation of Stephen King's short story from his collection 'Skeleton Crew.' The film, directed by Osgood Perkins and produced by James Wan, is set for a 2025 release. It stars Theo James, Tatiana Maslany, and Elijah Wood. The plot centers on twin brothers who discover their father's old monkey toy in the attic, leading to a series of gruesome deaths. The acquisition followed a competitive buyer tug-of-war at the Cannes Market.
