VisitNearly 14,000 U.S. Children Underwent $120 Million in Sex-Change Procedures from 2019 to 2023
Oct 8, 2024, 03:43 PM
A new database from the medical watchdog organization Do No Harm has revealed that nearly 14,000 children in the United States underwent sex-change procedures between 2019 and 2023. The data, corroborated by findings from the Manhattan Institute, shows that U.S. hospitals charged at least $120 million for these procedures. The figures do not account for self-pay, Veterans Affairs claims, or patients covered by Kaiser Health Plans. The industry is far larger than previously known, bringing in well over $100 million based on insurance claims analyzed by Do No Harm. The database also highlights that at least 5,000 to 6,000 U.S. teen girls had their breasts amputated for sex change purposes during this period, including 50 to 179 girls aged 12.5 or younger.
