May 22, 2024, 01:07 AM
The NCAA is nearing a historic $2.7 billion settlement in the House v. NCAA class-action lawsuit, which could significantly reshape college sports. The settlement involves revenue-sharing with athletes and overhauling scholarship and roster limits. The Big 12, ACC, and Big Ten have already approved the settlement terms, with the SEC and Pac-12 expected to vote soon. The NCAA Board of Governors has also voted to adopt the settlement terms. The settlement must be finalized by Thursday, with over 300 schools across 30+ conferences needing to sign off. Non-power conferences will contribute to damage payments but do not have a say in the agreement.
