VisitNATO Increases Aid to Ukraine, Supports Kursk Region Incursion
Aug 31, 2024, 04:22 AM
NATO has announced an increase in military assistance to Ukraine amid ongoing Russian attacks. Following a NATO-Ukraine Council meeting, Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg confirmed that member states will provide Ukraine with the necessary equipment and ammunition to defend itself. This decision comes as Ukraine's recent incursion into Russia's Kursk region has been deemed legitimate by NATO and Stoltenberg, who emphasized Ukraine's right to self-defense under international law in an interview with Die Welt. Latvian Foreign Minister also supported this view, stating that the operation is part of Ukraine's self-defense. The US Secretary of Defense, Lloyd Austin, reiterated that the US will continue to support Ukraine with all necessary aid.
