VisitNathan MacKinnon Wins 2024 Ted Lindsay Award and First Hart Trophy
Jun 27, 2024, 11:57 PM
Nathan MacKinnon has won both the 2024 Ted Lindsay Award and the Hart Trophy. The Ted Lindsay Award is given to the most outstanding player in the regular season as voted by members of the NHL Players' Association (NHLPA). MacKinnon won the award over Nikita Kucherov and Connor McDavid. The Hart Trophy, awarded to the player deemed most valuable to his team, was also claimed by MacKinnon, marking his first win of this prestigious accolade. He is the third player in Colorado Avalanche history to win the Hart Trophy, joining Peter Forsberg and Joe Sakic. MacKinnon had an exceptional season, scoring 140 points, finding the scoresheet in an NHL-high 69 games, and posting the second-longest home scoring streak in NHL history with 35 games. During his acceptance speech, MacKinnon acknowledged teammate Andrew Cogliano, who retired after a 17-year career. Notably, MacKinnon has been a four-time finalist for the Hart Trophy.
