VisitNassau County Authorities Confirm False Reports of Explosives Near Trump Rally Site
Sep 18, 2024, 03:17 PM
Authorities in Nassau County, New York, have confirmed that reports of explosives found near the site of a rally for former President Donald Trump are false. Initial social media reports, including from the Daily Mail, suggested that explosives were discovered in a car near the Nassau Coliseum, where Trump was scheduled to speak. However, Nassau County Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder stated that the reports were unfounded. The police responded to a 'suspicious occurrence' on Wednesday morning, but no explosive devices were found. A person with a bomb detection dog, who may have been training the dog, was questioned and released. The incident caused a brief stir, but law enforcement has assured the public that there is no threat to the rally.
