VisitNASCAR Responds to Michael Jordan, Denny Hamlin's Antitrust Lawsuit, Plans 2025 Season with 32 Charters
Oct 17, 2024, 03:35 AM
NASCAR has filed a court document in response to an antitrust lawsuit from 23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports (FRM), led by Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin. NASCAR plans to run the 2025 Cup Series season with only 32 charters, down from the usual 36, citing its contractual obligations to other Charter Teams. The lawsuit, which NASCAR calls 'meritless,' accuses the sanctioning body of attempting to extort a better charter deal. NASCAR has requested that the expedited discovery motion made by 23XI Racing and FRM be denied, arguing that the plaintiffs aim to use the antitrust discovery process as a weapon.
