Bobby Allison, a NASCAR Hall of Famer and founder of racing's 'Alabama Gang', died on November 9, 2024, at the age of 86. The 1983 Cup Series champion and three-time Daytona 500 winner was an 85-time winner in the NASCAR Cup Series, recently awarded his 85th career win by NASCAR. He passed away peacefully at his home in Mooresville, North Carolina, surrounded by family. Allison had been in declining health over the past few years but continued to give back to the sport he loved. In a family statement, he was described as 'the ultimate fan’s driver' who 'thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his fans and would stop to sign autographs and have conversations with them everywhere he went.' NASCAR paid tribute to Allison ahead of the Xfinity Series championship.
