VisitNASCAR Hall of Famer and 85-Time Winner Bobby Allison Dies at 86
Nov 10, 2024, 12:06 AM
Bobby Allison, legendary NASCAR driver and member of the famed 'Alabama Gang,' has passed away at the age of 86. A NASCAR Hall of Famer, Allison was an 85-time winner in the NASCAR Cup Series and won the Daytona 500 three times. He claimed the Cup Series championship in 1983. Allison passed away peacefully at his home on November 9, 2024, surrounded by family. "Bobby was the ultimate fan’s driver. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his fans and would stop to sign autographs and have conversations with them everywhere he went," his family said in a statement. Despite declining health in recent years, he continued to give back to the sport he loved. Last month, NASCAR officially awarded him his 85th career Cup Series win.
