NASCAR has made significant changes to the Charlotte Roval course at the Charlotte Motor Speedway following complaints from drivers about the frontstretch chicane turtles. The original turtles, which were 4 inches high, caused severe discomfort and were described by drivers like Martin Truex Jr. and Kyle Busch as feeling like 'a concussion every lap.' In response, NASCAR and Speedway Motorsports replaced the turtles with 2.25-inch rumble strips in Turn 16. This change, which involved replacing the blue rumble strips, was implemented ahead of Sunday's Playoff elimination race to address the safety concerns raised by the drivers.
