VisitNASA Taps SpaceX to Return Astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams from ISS in February 2025
Aug 24, 2024, 05:39 PM
NASA has announced that astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams, who have been stranded on the International Space Station since June due to issues with Boeing's Starliner spacecraft, will return to Earth aboard a SpaceX Crew Dragon capsule. The decision follows a thorough review by NASA, which determined that the Starliner would return uncrewed. NASA Administrator Bill Nelson confirmed the astronauts were initially scheduled for an eight-day mission, but their stay has been extended to approximately eight months. The return is planned for early February 2025 as part of the Crew-9 mission.
