VisitMusk's X Reinstated in Brazil After Paying $5.2 Million Fines
Oct 8, 2024, 08:27 PM
Elon Musk's social media platform X has been reinstated in Brazil after complying with the Supreme Court's demands. The platform had been suspended since late August due to non-compliance with court rulings and unpaid fines. X paid $5.2 million in fines, although initially to the wrong bank account, causing a delay in the decision. The Brazilian Supreme Court, led by Justice Alexandre de Moraes, has now authorized the return of X after the company settled the fines and appointed a local legal representative. X has 22 million users in Brazil and the reinstatement marks the end of a standoff over disinformation issues.
