VisitMossad Plants 20 Grams of Explosives in Hezbollah's Pagers in Beirut
Sep 17, 2024, 09:55 PM
Israel's Mossad intelligence agency conducted a covert operation against Hezbollah by planting explosive materials in a new batch of Taiwanese-made pagers imported into Lebanon. The pagers, mostly Gold Apollo’s AP924 model, were tampered with before reaching Hezbollah members. Mossad injected 20 grams of Pentaerythritol Tetranitrate (PETN), a highly explosive compound, into the batteries of these pagers. The explosives were detonated remotely by increasing the temperature of the batteries. This operation, reportedly carried out on Tuesday in Beirut, was made possible by Mossad intercepting the pagers five months ago before they were handed over to Hezbollah.
