Paris-based AI startup Mistral AI has secured €600 million (approximately $640 million) in a Series B funding round led by General Catalyst. The funding comprises €468 million in equity and €132 million in debt. This latest round values the company at almost €6 billion ($6 billion), a significant increase from its previous valuation, which has tripled since December. The list of investors includes prominent names such as Lightspeed Venture Partners, Andreessen Horowitz (a16z), Nvidia, and Salesforce Ventures. Mistral AI aims to challenge established AI giants like OpenAI and DeepMind with its innovative models and open-source releases.
