Minneapolis Officers Testify Gov. Walz Ordered Precinct Surrender Amid Daunte Wright Unrest

In a series of testimonies to the Minnesota State Senate, three Minneapolis police officers have alleged that Governor Tim Walz ordered them to allow rioters to burn the Minneapolis Police Department's Third Precinct during the unrest following the death of Daunte Wright. Sergeant Anna Hedberg testified that she heard the Governor say 'Give it up,' indicating a directive to surrender the precinct. The National Guard was deployed by Governor Walz on the first night of unrest, with the unlawful assembly declared by police at 11:30 PM and the Guard arriving just before midnight. The city experienced four consecutive nights of unrest.
