MicroStrategy Inc., led by Executive Chairman Michael Saylor, has acquired an additional 5,262 bitcoins between December 15 and December 22, 2024, for approximately $561 million at an average price of $106,662 per bitcoin. This purchase increases the company's total holdings to 444,262 bitcoins, valued at about $42.7 billion, acquired at an aggregate cost of approximately $27.7 billion, averaging $62,257 per bitcoin. With this latest acquisition, MicroStrategy now holds more bitcoins than the governments of the United States and China combined, which hold 198,109 BTC and 190,000 BTC respectively. MicroStrategy's aggressive accumulation surpasses its buying activity during the 2021 bull market, highlighting its commitment to the cryptocurrency.
