VisitMicroStrategy Buys 5,262 Bitcoin at $106,662 Each, Now Holds More BTC Than U.S., China Combined

MicroStrategy has acquired an additional 5,262 bitcoins for approximately $561 million at an average price of $106,662 per bitcoin, as announced by CEO Michael Saylor on December 23, 2024. This purchase brings the company's total bitcoin holdings to 444,262 BTC, acquired at an aggregate cost of about $27.7 billion, averaging $62,257 per bitcoin. The company's bitcoin holdings are now valued at approximately $42.7 billion. MicroStrategy has achieved a BTC yield of 47.4% quarter-to-date and 73.7% year-to-date. In November, the company made its largest single purchase of 55,500 BTC at $97,000 per coin, significantly surpassing its acquisitions during the 2021 bull market. With these aggressive accumulations, MicroStrategy now holds more bitcoin than the U.S., China, and the U.K. governments combined, solidifying its position as a leading institutional investor in the cryptocurrency market.
