MicroStrategy Adds 2,530 Bitcoins, Holdings Now 450,000 BTC Worth $40.7 Billion After 10th Weekly Purchase

MicroStrategy Inc. has acquired an additional 2,530 bitcoins for approximately $243 million, bringing its total holdings to 450,000 bitcoins, the company announced on January 13, 2025. The latest purchase was made at an average price of $95,972 per bitcoin and marks the firm's tenth consecutive week of bitcoin acquisitions, reflecting its ongoing commitment to the cryptocurrency under Executive Chairman Michael Saylor's leadership. As of January 12, 2025, MicroStrategy has invested a total of $28.2 billion in bitcoin at an average price of $62,691 per bitcoin. The company's bitcoin holdings now represent approximately 2.1% of the total bitcoin supply. The total value of its bitcoin assets has increased by 51% to over $40.7 billion, resulting in a profit of $12.5 billion. This surge has boosted shareholder value by $14 billion. MicroStrategy's aggressive strategy in accumulating bitcoin continues to set a new standard for corporate cryptocurrency adoption. In 2024, the company invested $22 billion to acquire 258,320 bitcoins at an average price of $85,450 per coin, and earlier this month purchased 1,070 bitcoins for $101 million at an average price of $94,000 per coin.
