MicroStrategy Adds 11,000 Bitcoin for $1.1B; Holdings Reach 461,000 BTC as Shareholders Approve Fundraising

MicroStrategy Inc., led by CEO and Chairman Michael Saylor, has acquired an additional 11,000 Bitcoin for $1.1 billion in January 2025, bringing its total holdings to 461,000 BTC, representing over 2% of Bitcoin's total supply. The latest purchase was made at an average price of approximately $101,191 per Bitcoin. The company's total investment in Bitcoin amounts to $29.3 billion, with an average purchase price of $63,610 per Bitcoin. MicroStrategy's Bitcoin holdings are currently valued at over $48 billion, yielding a profit of $19 billion since 2020 and achieving a BTC yield of 1.69% year-to-date in 2025. Additionally, shareholders approved an increase in the number of authorized Class A common shares from 330 million to 10.3 billion, enabling the company to raise $2 billion through preferred stock, ATM offerings, and convertible notes for future Bitcoin acquisitions.
