VisitMicrosoft Unveils AI-Powered Copilot+ PCs, 58% Faster Than MacBook Air, Available June 18
May 21, 2024, 03:47 PM
Microsoft has unveiled a new category of personal computers called Copilot+ PCs, which are equipped with advanced artificial intelligence capabilities. These AI-ready PCs feature Qualcomm's Snapdragon X Elite and X Plus processors, promising faster performance and longer battery life compared to Apple's MacBook Air. The Copilot+ PCs, powered by OpenAI's GPT-4o, include AI-powered features such as real-time conversation capabilities and a 'photographic memory' feature called Recall, which takes constant screenshots to remember user activities. The new PCs are expected to be available from June 18, starting at $999. Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella emphasized that these new AI PCs aim to revive the competition between Windows PCs and Apple's Macs. Dell, HP, Lenovo, Samsung, Asus, and Acer are among the partners providing hardware for these devices. Notably, the Copilot+ PCs are 58% faster in multi-threaded throughput compared to the latest MacBook Air and will run on Windows 11. The announcement was made during Microsoft's Build 2024 event, where the new Surface Pro was also highlighted.
