VisitMichael Scheuer, Ex-Disney Worker, Charged with Hacking Menus to Remove Peanut Allergy Warnings
Oct 30, 2024, 07:11 PM
Michael Scheuer, a former Disney World employee, has been accused of hacking into the company's restaurant menu system after his termination earlier this year. According to a federal complaint, Scheuer allegedly used a third-party menu creation software to alter menu information, falsely indicating that items containing peanuts were safe for those with allergies. He also reportedly changed menu fonts to Wingdings, inserted profane language, and removed peanut allergen information, potentially endangering guests with allergies. The FBI is investigating the alleged cyber vandalism and hacking, and charges of computer trespass have been filed against him. Following a search warrant executed on his home, Scheuer allegedly compiled a "dox" list on co-workers and stalked a former colleague.
