Michael McDowell, a driver for Front Row Motorsports, has secured the pole position for Sunday's NASCAR Cup Series race at World Wide Technology Raceway, also known as Gateway. This marks McDowell's third pole of the 2024 season and his third-career pole. He set a new track record during the qualifying session, beating Austin Cindric who will start second. Ford drivers swept the top three positions with Ryan Blaney joining McDowell and Cindric. The qualifying session saw struggles from Team Chevy drivers. McDowell will lead the field to green in the Enjoy Illinois 300 race.
