VisitMiCA Regulation Enters Force in Europe, MoonPay Gains Approval from Dutch Authority
Dec 30, 2024, 11:07 AM
The Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation, aimed at regulating the cryptocurrency sector in Europe, has come into effect today after four years of negotiations. This new regulation marks a significant shift from the previously unregulated 'Wild West' of the crypto market. In Spain, the Bank of Spain will no longer register new crypto companies, with the responsibility shifting to the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV). MoonPay has received approval under MiCA from the Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets, enabling it to innovate crypto payments across Europe.
