Sep 14, 2024, 09:23 PM
The No. 10 Miami Hurricanes, led by quarterback Tyler Van Dyke, defeated the Ball State Cardinals 62-0 at Hard Rock Stadium after a lengthy weather delay. The game, initially scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff, was delayed multiple times due to lightning, ultimately starting at 5:55 p.m. Miami's Andy Borregales scored the first points with a 30-yard field goal. By halftime, Miami led 31-0 and continued to dominate, leading 41-0 by the end of the third quarter. The Hurricanes broke several school records, including the largest shutout win over an FBS opponent and most yards in a game with 750. Miami paid Ball State a $1.5 million guarantee for the game. Head Coach Mario Cristobal thanked the fans for their patience during the delays.
