VisitMiami Dolphins' Zach Sieler Wins 2024 Dan Marino MVP Award as Defensive Tackle with 8.5 Sacks
Jan 1, 2025, 07:05 PM
Zach Sieler, a defensive tackle for the Miami Dolphins, has been named the team's 2024 Most Valuable Player, receiving the Dan Marino MVP Award. This accolade, voted on by South Florida media, marks Sieler as only the second defensive tackle in Dolphins history to win this award, following Ndamukong Suh in 2017. Sieler, who was claimed off waivers by the Dolphins in 2019, has shown remarkable growth, becoming a key player in the team's defense. His performance this season includes 49 tackles, 8.5 sacks, one interception, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, and a career-high 12 tackles for loss. Sieler has also recorded at least one tackle in 81 consecutive games, the longest active streak by any defensive lineman in the NFL. His contributions have been pivotal in the Dolphins' recent 6-2 run, positioning them for a playoff push as they head into the final week of the season. Sieler was previously named AFC defensive player of the week for his performance against the New York Jets.
