In a historic operation, Mexican federal authorities have seized over 1.5 tons of fentanyl pills in Sinaloa, marking the largest fentanyl seizure in the country's history. The operation, which took place in the municipalities of Guasave and Ahome, resulted in the arrest of two individuals and the confiscation of firearms. Omar García Harfuch, Mexico's Secretary of Security, described the seizure as a significant blow to the drug trade, with the amount of fentanyl equivalent to approximately 20 million doses and valued at around 8 billion pesos. President Claudia Sheinbaum highlighted the operation's success, noting that it was the result of a long-term investigation.
