The app, which will be operational starting January 6, 2025, will allow users to send real-time alerts to their chosen contacts, the nearest Mexican consulate, and the Mexican Foreign Ministry in case of an impending arrest. This initiative, announced by Juan Ramón de la Fuente, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, comes in response to the anticipated mass deportations under President Trump's administration. The government has also committed to hiring 329 legal advisors to support affected individuals. The app is part of a broader strategy to protect Mexican migrants and ensure they have access to legal assistance during potential deportation scenarios.
