VisitMetro Boomin Sued for Alleged Rape Referenced in 'Rap Saved Me'
Oct 30, 2024, 04:28 PM
Hip-hop producer Metro Boomin, born Leland Wayne, is facing a lawsuit filed in Los Angeles alleging rape and sexual assault stemming from an incident in 2016. The plaintiff claims that she visited Wayne's studio in a Beverly Hills hotel while grieving the loss of her son, where she consumed a shot of alcohol and half a Xanax bar, after which she blacked out. She alleges that she awoke to find Wayne performing sexual acts on her without her consent. The woman asserts that the assault resulted in a pregnancy, which she later terminated. Additionally, she claims that Wayne referenced the alleged incident in the lyrics of the song 'Rap Saved Me' from the 2017 album 'Without Warning.' Wayne's attorney, Lawrence Hinkle II, has denied the allegations, calling the lawsuit a 'pure shakedown' and stating, 'These are false accusations. Mr. Wayne refused to pay her months ago, and he refuses to pay her now.' He added that Wayne intends to defend himself in court.
