Japanese public company Metaplanet has made a substantial investment in Bitcoin, purchasing 619.7 BTC for approximately ¥9.5 billion, or about $60.7 million. This acquisition marks Metaplanet's largest single Bitcoin purchase to date, bringing its total Bitcoin holdings to 1,761.98 BTC, valued at roughly $168 million. The average price paid for the latest acquisition is reported to be around $97,786 per Bitcoin. Metaplanet, often referred to as 'Asia’s MicroStrategy,' has seen its stock surge 1,982% year-to-date, indicating a strong bullish sentiment towards Bitcoin despite recent fluctuations in its price, which has been around $95,000 to $96,000.
