Meta Platforms Inc., the parent company of Facebook, has announced plans to invest $10 billion to construct an artificial intelligence-optimized data center in Richland Parish, Louisiana. The facility, spanning 4 million square feet, will be Meta's largest data center globally. Construction is set to begin in December 2024. The project is part of Meta's broader strategy to enhance its AI capabilities and infrastructure. Louisiana Economic Development (LED) is partnering with Meta on this initiative. Turner (ACS) has been contracted to build the facility.
