VisitMeta Fires 25 Employees for Misusing $25 Meal Credits on Household Items
Oct 17, 2024, 02:56 PM
Meta has terminated approximately 25 employees for misusing the company's $25 meal credits. The employees, some of whom were making over $400,000 annually, were found to be using the credits to purchase household items such as toothpaste, washing powder, laundry detergent, wine glasses, acne pads, and period pads. An in-house investigation revealed that some employees were also pooling their meal credits or sending meals home, which is against company policy. The decision to fire these employees has sparked controversy, with some criticizing the severity of the punishment.
