VisitMeta Admits Error in 100-Hour Removal of Hillsdale College's Page
Aug 27, 2024, 03:57 PM
Hillsdale College, a conservative institution in Michigan, criticized Facebook for removing its page after launching a course critical of communism and Marxist ideology. Meta, Facebook's parent company, admitted the removal was an 'error.' The college's online courses page was suspended for nearly 100 hours, despite Facebook's usual resolution time of 24 hours for content moderation disputes. Emily Stack Davis, a spokeswoman for Hillsdale, stated that Facebook did not provide an explanation for mistakenly flagging the course advertisement.
