Daniil Medvedev defeated world No. 1 Jannik Sinner in a thrilling five-set match at Wimbledon, securing his place in the semi-finals for the second consecutive year. Medvedev, who lost to Sinner in five sets at the Australian Open, avenged that defeat with a 6-7(7), 6-4, 7-6(4), 2-6, 6-3 victory. This win marks Medvedev's ninth career Grand Slam semi-final and his second at Wimbledon. The match, which lasted exactly four hours, saw Medvedev end a five-match losing streak against Sinner and snap Sinner's tiebreak streak. Medvedev will face the winner of the Alcaraz/Paul match in the semi-finals.
