Canadian swimmer Summer McIntosh set a new world record in the women's 200-meter butterfly at the 2024 World Aquatics Short Course Championships in Budapest, clocking 1:59.32 and breaking Mireia Belmonte's decade-old record. McIntosh, 18, became only the second woman to swim the event under two minutes, securing her second gold and second world record of the meet. American Regan Smith took silver with a time of 2:01.00.
