Oct 31, 2024, 02:49 AM
The number of E. coli cases linked to McDonald's Quarter Pounders has increased to 90, up from 75 reported last week, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The outbreak is believed to be caused by slivered onions used on the burgers. Federal health officials have identified an 'onion grower of interest' in Washington state as they continue to investigate the source of the contamination. The outbreak has resulted in 27 hospitalizations, including five more hospitalized, and one death across multiple states. Three more cases have been reported in Colorado.
