Maysaa Sabrine has been appointed as the interim governor of the Central Bank of Syria, making her the first woman to hold the position in the country's history. She previously served as the first deputy governor and director of supervision at the Central Bank since October 2018 and holds a doctorate in economics and accounting. Sabrine has also represented the Central Bank on the board of the Damascus Securities Exchange.
