Jul 16, 2024, 12:27 PM
Maulana Tauqeer Raza, chief of the Ittehad-e-Millat Council, has announced plans for mass conversions of Hindu youths to Islam in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, scheduled for July 21. The event, which includes mass marriages of five couples following the conversions, seeks official permission from the District Magistrate. The announcement has sparked strong protests from Hindu groups at the Bareilly DM office, demanding action against Raza. Uttar Pradesh BJP has stated it will not allow such an event to take place. Various individuals, including Mahant Raju Das and other Hindu leaders, have condemned the plan, calling it an example of 'love jihad' and urging the government to take strict action. Raza has been accused of planning to have Hindu sisters recite the Kalma. The Bareilly police and administration are on high alert following the announcement. Yogi Baba has been requested to investigate Raza's whereabouts and properties.
