VisitMattel Apologizes After 'Wicked' Dolls Featuring Ariana Grande Misprinted with Porn URL
Nov 11, 2024, 05:54 AM
Mattel has issued an apology after mistakenly printing the URL of a pornographic website on the packaging of its newly released "Wicked" dolls. The dolls, featuring characters portrayed by Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo from the upcoming film adaptation of the Broadway musical "Wicked," were supposed to direct customers to the official website "wickedmovie.com." However, due to a misprint, the packaging listed "wicked.com," a web address that leads to an adult entertainment site. The dolls were sold at retailers including Target. In response to the error and backlash from parents and fans, Mattel has ceased sales of the dolls and is taking immediate action to remedy the issue. The company has advised parents that the misprinted website is not appropriate for children and expressed deep regret over the incident. The mistake has inadvertently led to a surge in traffic to the adult website.
