VisitMatt Kuchar, Tied for 12th, Delays Final Hole at Sedgefield Due to Darkness
Aug 12, 2024, 01:06 AM
Matt Kuchar, currently tied for 12th place at the Wyndham Championship, has decided to halt his play on the 18th hole at Sedgefield Country Club due to darkness and will return the following morning to complete his round. This decision means that Kuchar, who cannot qualify for the FedEx Cup playoffs as he stands 103rd, will have to finish just half a hole. His choice has drawn criticism as it requires tournament staff and crew to return solely for his completion of the round. Kuchar's decision comes after he was reportedly frustrated by not being informed about other golfers in the fairway, which led him to stop play. A birdie on the final hole could earn him $233,833, while a par would result in $134,685.
