Mastercard has partnered with European crypto payments firm Mercuryo to launch a euro-denominated crypto debit card in Europe. This new card allows users to spend cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin, directly from self-custodial wallets at over 100 million merchants worldwide. The initiative marks a significant expansion of Mastercard’s support for non-custodial crypto wallets, following a successful pilot with MetaMask. The card is integrated with Apple Pay and Google Pay, facilitating a seamless payment experience.
