VisitMassive 'Line Fire' Forces Evacuations in Southern California, Grows to 17,000 Acres
Sep 8, 2024, 06:19 PM
A massive wildfire, dubbed the 'Line Fire,' has erupted in Southern California, forcing thousands of residents to evacuate. The blaze, which has grown to over 17,000 acres, is threatening more than 35,000 structures and is burning so intensely that it is creating its own weather. The fire, located in the foothills of a national forest east of Los Angeles, has prompted mandatory evacuations and the deployment of nearly 200 firefighters by the California Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES). On Sunday, the fire grew by more than 3,000 acres. Residents are urged to follow law enforcement instructions and evacuate immediately if advised.
