A massive fire broke out in Queens Village, New York, on Saturday, injuring 14 people, including 11 firefighters. The fire started at about 4 p.m. at a private dwelling on 88-21 Francis Lewis Boulevard and quickly spread to seven homes. The FDNY responded to the call and faced a rapidly expanding fire condition. The blaze, which reached five alarms, displaced several residents and caused significant damage to multiple buildings. Acting Chief of Department John Esposito described the fire as particularly challenging due to the hot weather. The FDNY is currently investigating the cause of the fire.
