Mass Casualty Event Declared After Firefighter Vehicle Crash Injures 8 in Orange County

A mass casualty event has been declared in Orange County, California, following a severe crash involving a wildland firefighter transport vehicle. The incident occurred on the CA-241 Toll Road near the Airport Fire on Thursday night, where a fire truck carrying around a dozen firefighters rolled over after swerving to avoid a ladder in the road. Eight firefighters were injured, with six sustaining serious injuries. Several medevac helicopters were deployed to airlift the injured to hospitals. The northbound 241 Freeway in Irvine has been closed as authorities investigate the crash.
