Masai Russell, a Bullis alum and Montgomery County-native, clinched the gold medal in the women's 100m hurdles at the Paris 2024 Olympics. In a dramatic photo finish, Russell completed the race in 12.33 seconds, narrowly defeating France's Cyrena Samba-Mayela, who finished in 12.34 seconds, earning the silver medal. This victory marks Russell's first Olympic gold in her debut Games. The competition was intense, with the top five competitors separated by just a tenth of a second. Puerto Rico's Jasmine Camacho-Quinn secured the bronze medal with a time of 12.36 seconds. Notably, Grace Stark and Nadine Visser were among the top finishers.
