Indian shooter Manu Bhaker, a 22-year-old, has made history at the Paris Olympics 2024 by becoming the first Indian woman to win an Olympic medal in shooting. Bhaker secured a bronze medal in the women's 10m air pistol event with a total score of 580 in the qualification round and 221.7 points in the final on July 28. This achievement marks India's first medal at the Paris Olympics. Rhythm Sangwan, another Indian competitor in the same event, finished in 15th place and did not qualify for the final. Bhaker's performance has been widely celebrated, with congratulations pouring in from various dignitaries, including the President and Prime Minister of India.
