VisitManchester United Plans New £2 Billion, 100,000-Seater Stadium by 2030
Jul 29, 2024, 08:39 AM
Manchester United is planning to build a new £2 billion, 100,000-seater stadium on the site of Old Trafford. The decision comes after the Old Trafford Regeneration Task Force concluded that constructing a new stadium would be more transformative than redeveloping the existing ground. The new stadium is intended to future-proof the club, given the high demand for tickets. Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who prefers a new stadium over renovation, expects a full recommendation by the end of the year. The project is set to be announced by the end of the year and completed by 2030, within the next six years. The plan includes building on adjacent land, allowing games to continue at Old Trafford during construction.
