VisitMalcolm X's Daughters Sue CIA, FBI, NYPD for $100M Over Alleged Cover-Up in 1965 Assassination
Nov 15, 2024, 10:30 PM
The family of Malcolm X, including three of his daughters and his estate, have filed a $100 million federal lawsuit in Manhattan federal court against the FBI, CIA, NYPD, and other government agencies. The lawsuit alleges that these agencies were involved in a conspiracy that led to the civil rights leader's assassination in 1965, during which Malcolm X was reportedly shot 21 times, and that they have concealed evidence and engaged in a decades-long cover-up. Attorney Ben Crump, representing Malcolm X's family, announced the lawsuit alongside Malcolm X's daughter Ilyasah Shabazz during a press conference. The lawsuit claims that the agencies were aware of credible threats against Malcolm X's life but failed to intervene, and accuses them of playing roles in his assassination. The family seeks justice, accountability, and transparency for Malcolm X's life and legacy.
