VisitMalaysia to Resume Search for Missing Flight MH370 After 10 Years
Dec 20, 2024, 09:33 AM
Malaysia has agreed in principle to resume the search for the wreckage of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370, more than ten years after the aircraft disappeared in one of aviation's greatest mysteries. The announcement was made on Friday by Malaysia's Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook. The new search will be conducted in partnership with Ocean Infinity, a U.S.-based exploration firm, on a 'no find, no fee' basis. The operation will focus on a new area in the southern Indian Ocean covering approximately 15,000 square kilometers, based on the latest information and data analysis provided by Ocean Infinity. Flight MH370, a Boeing 777 carrying 227 passengers and 12 crew members, vanished on March 8, 2014, while en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing. Despite extensive searches, the aircraft has never been found, leaving unanswered questions about its fate.
